    1.  April 2nd 2024 Spring Election and Presidential Preference Election completed.
    1. Waste Management removed trash and recycling bins on April 3rd 2024.
    1. GFL brought trash and recycling bins on March 28th 2024.
  7. New Business
    1.  Received notice from Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Department for Minor Land Division Letter of Intent and a Conditional Use Permit Application.  A Planning Commission meeting was completed on March 28th for the Minor Land Division and Conditional Use Permit for Julie Yuds and/ or Rober Kanz.  Planning commission approved both Minor Land Division and Conditional Use Permit for a 2 acre  single family home.
    1.  Phone number will have no changes to contact new clerk/ treasurer.  Number was moved to a cell phone instead.  No changes made to email contact as well.

Minutes

Attendance: Chairman Neale Jones, Supervisor Peter McFarland, Supervisor Kyle Wollitz, Clerk-Treasurer Susan Johnson, Ben Gulden, Julie Klusken, Aaron Jones, and Jill Jones. 

The Board meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Chairman Neale Jones, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

  1. The Minutes were reviewed by the Town Board, on a motion by Supervisor McFarland to accept the minutes as reviewed, seconded by Supervisor Wollitz. Motion Carried.
  • The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Clerk-Treasurer Johnson, on a motion by Supervisor Wollitz to accept the report as read and seconded by Supervisor McFarland. Motion Carried.
  • The monthly bills were read by Clerk-Treasurer Johnson; Supervisor McFarland made a motion to pay monthly bills and Supervisor Wollitz seconded. Motion Carried.
  • Correspondence- None to report.
  • Old Business-
    • Contract changes at transfer site in  April.  Coordinated transfer of bins and date is being coordinated with new company GFL for drop off of new dumpers and the pick up of old dumpster with Waste Management.  This is being worked on for no gap in dumpers. 
  • New Business.
    • Appointed new Clerk-Treasurer Julie Klusken.  Julie took the Oath of Office for an appointment of a 3 year term per State Statue. 
    • Charter Permit to construct & Maintain or repair Utilities, Hwy 26.  Jill Jones made a motion to veto Hwy 26 permit, seconded by Supervisor Wollitz, motion carried. 
    • Charter Permit to Construct and Maintain or Report Utilities, Hubbleton Rd discussed.  Motion made by Supervisor McFarland to accept and seconded by Jill Jones.  Motion carried. 
    • Charter Permit to Construct and Maintain or Repair Utilities, Garden Rd was discussed.  Motion made by Supervisor Wollitz and seconded by Aaron Jones.  Motion carried.
    • Charter Permit to Construct and Maintain or Repair Utilities, Englehardt Rd was discussed.  Supervisor McFarland made a motion to approve and seconded by Jill Jones.  Motion was carried. 
    • Talked with Ben Gulden- Dodge County Sherrif Office Deputy liaison for township.  Deputy Gulden discussed contacting him for any concerns, issues, or information for the township policing.  He can be reached at 920-386-4103.  He does work 5pm-5am and please call main line or 911 for emergency needs. 
  • Miscellaneous
    • April 2nd 2024 Spring Election & Presidential Preference Election.   Polls to open at 7am and Close at 8pm.
    • Town of Shields spring Clean Up, April 20th, 2024- trash bags and treats at the transfer site offered. 
    • Annual Town of Shields meeting, April 22nd 2024. 
  • Public Comment
    • Steve Faltersack- Town of Emmet chair is looking to add another full time employee and wondered if Town of Shields would have use of snow removal and roadside mowing. 
    • Transfer site is to be used for only residential garbage/ recycling only.  No construction materials or unauthorized materials.  Residents will be billed a charge for violation of this. 
  1. Next month’s board meeting date; April 8th 2024 at 7 pm at the Emmet Town Hall.
  2. Supervisor Wollitz called for the meeting to be adjourned at 7:48pm and Jill Jones seconded. Motion Carried Meeting Adjourned.
