Board Meeting                                   January 14, 2019                                7pm

Minutes

Attendance: Chairman Neale Jones, Supervisor Ron Johnson (via phone), Treasurer Sue Nampel, Clerk Susan Johnson, Assessor P. Joseph Plasil.

 1. The Board meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Chairman Neale Jones, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

2. The Minutes were reviewed by the Town Board, on a motion by Supervisor Johnson to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Chairman Jones. Corrections will be made. Motion Carried.

3. The Treasurers Report was read by the Town Treasurer, on a motion by Chairman Jones to except the report as read, and seconded by Supervisor Johnson. Corrections will be made. Motion Carried.

4. The monthly bills were read by Clerk Johnson; Supervisor Johnson made a motion to pay monthly bills and Chairman Jones seconded. Motion Carried.

5. Correspondences;

a. Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Department sent notice of the Approved Land Use Permit, for Ken Hemker. Approved 2/11/18. Noted by the board.

b. Jakob & Teresa Marasch sent a copy of a proposed Building located at W7767 Quarry Road. Further updates will follow as available. Noted by the board.

c. A Town Officers, Wisconsin Towns Association Dodge County Officers’ Unit Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 @ 7:30pm. Noted by the board.

6. Reports;

a. No new fire reports were available at meeting time.

b. The Caucus held on January 7, 2019 at 7pm results are;

Chairman nominated- Neale R. Jones, Supervisors’-Ron Johnson and Peter McFarland, Clerk-Susan Johnson, Treasurer-Sue Nampel, Assessor-P. Joseph Plasil.

9. Miscellaneous-None to report.

10. Public Comment-

a. Assessor Plasil made a comment that he has received a few phone calls about someone wanting information about certain parcels of land, that the town does not have.

11. Next month’s meeting date; February 11, 2019 at 7 pm at the Emmet Town Hall.

Attendance: Chairman Neale Jones (by phone), Supervisor Peter McFarland, Supervisor Ron Johnson, Treasurer Sue Nampel, Clerk Susan Johnson, Assessor P. Joseph Plasil.

1. The Board meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm by Chairman Neale Jones, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
2. The Minutes were reviewed by the Town Board, on a motion by Supervisor McFarland to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Supervisor Johnson. Motion Carried.
3. The Treasurers Report was read by the Town Treasurer, on a motion by Supervisor Johnson to except the report as read, and seconded by Supervisor McFarland. Motion Carried.
4. The monthly bills were read by Clerk Johnson, Supervisor McFarland made a motion to pay monthly bills and Supervisor Johnson seconded. Motion Carried.

6. DCLR & PD sent notice of an Approved Land Use Permit for a Barn at W7767 Quarry Road.
7. Dodge County Treasurer sent information that they will be electronically withdrawing the Dodge County Taxes portion going forward.
8. DCLR & PD sent notice of an Approved Land Use Permit for Ken Hemker for the addition of a kitchen extension.
9. UW Extension sent notice of the January – May 2019, Local Land Use, Planning and Zoning Classes available.

11. There were no monthly Fire Reports.
12. Old Business;
13. The new Waste Management Agreement was signed. The new monthly cost to the township is $550.00.
14. New Business;
15. Discussion took place of combining the Treasurers job with the clerks’ job. More discussion will be held at the Annual Meeting of the Electors.
16. Miscellaneous;
17. Caucus date will be January 7, 2019 at 7pm.

Chairman Jones called for the meeting to be adjourned at 7:40 pm and Supervisor Johnson seconded. Motion Carried Meeting Adjourned.

Town of Shields Caucus Date Set:

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a town Caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates to appear on the Spring Election ballot for the Town of Shields, will be held on January 7, 2019 at 7pm at the Emmet Town Hall. Anyone interested in running for a position on the Town Board should attend or contact the clerk. 920-261-7154.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an election to be held in the Town of Shields, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.  All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, except for Town Assessor, whose term will begin on June 1, 2019.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a town caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates to appear on the spring election ballot for the above listed offices will be scheduled between December 1^st, 2018 and January 1^st, 2019.  The caucus will be held on a date not sooner than January 2^nd and January 21^st.  Notice of the scheduled date of the caucus will be given at least five days before the caucus.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election.  If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
