NOTICE OF PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING FOR

TOWN OF SHIELDS, DODGE COUNTY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 8p.m. or following the monthly Board Meeting held at 7pm, at the Emmet Town Hall, W6777 Second Street Road, Watertown, WI will hold PUBLIC HEARING on the PROPOSED 2018 BUDGET of the Town of Shields in Dodge County will be held. The proposed budget is available for inspection at the town clerk’s office by appointment.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS OF

THE TOWN OF SHIELDS, DODGE COUNTY

Notice is hereby given that on Monday, November 13, 2017 immediately following completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed 2017 Budget which begins at 8pm, at the Emmet Town Hall, W6777 Second Street Road, Watertown, WI a Special Town Meeting of the electors called pursuant to Section 60.12(1) (c) of the Wisconsin Statutes by the town board of the following proposed will be held;

  1. To approve the total of the total of the 2018 highway expenditures pursuant to Section 81.01(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
  2. To adopt the 2017 tax levy to be paid in 2018 pursuant to the Section 60.10(1) (a) of Wisconsin Statutes.

October 9, 2017 Minutes

Board Meeting                       October 9, 2017                     7pm

 Minutes

Attendance: Chairman Neale Jones, Supervisor Ron Johnson, Treasurer Sue Nampel, Clerk Susan Johnson, Assessor P. Joseph Plasil.

  1. The Board meeting was called to order at 7:04pm by Chairman Neale Jones, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
  2. The Minutes were reviewed by the Town Board, on a motion by Supervisor Johnson to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Chairman Jones. Motion Carried.
  3. The Treasurers Report was read by the Town Treasurer, on a motion by Supervisor Johnson to accept the report as read, and seconded by Chairman Jones. Motion Carried.
  4. The monthly bills were read by Chairman Jones, Supervisor Jones made a motion to pay monthly bills and Chairman Jones seconded. Motion Carried.
  5. Correspondences;
  6. Dodge County Unit of WI WTA Association Meeting will be held on October 18, 2017, 7:30pm at the Administration Building in Juneau. Noted by the board.
  7. ATC/American Transmission Company sent a flyer of their services offered. Noted by the board.
  8. Chairman Jones noted that he has had a few comments on the mowing this year, how nice it was done. Noted by the board.
  9. Reports;
  10. Waterloo Fire Department sent the August/September Activity Report, no runs were reported to the Town of Shields.
  11. Old Business-none to report.
  12. New Business;
  13. Dodge County sent its “ Annual Joint Powers Agreement County 911 System”. Chairman Jones and Clerk Johnson signed the agreement for 2018.
  1. Miscellaneous;
  2. The Budget Prep meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 7pm at the Clerks home.
  3. The Public Hearing on the 2018 Budget and Approve the Levy of the Town of Shields will be held following the monthly Board Meeting on Monday, November 13, 2017.
  4. The December Monthly Board Meeting has been changed to Friday December 8, 2017 at 4pm at the Emmet Town Hall.
  5. Public Comment;
  6. The Posting Board for the Town of Shields which is now on the Precise Auto Building will be moved to Andy’s Excavating Building on N1063 Cty Hwy Q.
  7. Next month’s meeting date; November 13, 2017 at 7 pm at the Emmet Town Hall.

Chairman Jones called for the meeting to be adjourned at 8:01pm and Supervisor Johnson seconded. Motion Carried Meeting Adjourned.
