Town Board December 11, 2023
Minutes
Attendance: Chairman Neale Jones, Supervisor Peter McFarland, Supervisor Kyle Wollitz, Clerk-Treasurer Susan Johnson.
The Board meeting was called to order at 7:08pm by Chairman Neale Jones, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
- The Minutes were reviewed by the Town Board, on a motion by Supervisor McFarland to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Supervisor Wollitz. Motion Carried.
- The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Clerk-Treasurer Johnson, on a motion by Supervisor Wollitz to accept the report as read and seconded by Supervisor McFarland. Motion Carried.
- The monthly bills were read by Clerk-Treasurer Johnson; Chairman Jones made a motion to pay monthly bills and Supervisor Wollitz seconded. Motion Carried.
- Correspondence.
a. The City of Watertown sent notice of a Public Hearing on Amendments to their Comprehensive Plan. The amendments would affect the Future Land Use Map. The notice with supportive documents can be viewed online at https://www.watertownwi.gov/document_center/index.php#outer-2858 .
The Comprehensive Plan and amendment are available for review at City Hall in the Building, Safety & Zoning Department located at 106 Jones St or on line at https://www.ci.watertown.wi.us/development/document_centers/comprehensive_plan/index.php . - Reports.
a. The Watertown Rural Fire Reports were not available at the meeting time. The Waterloo Fire Department report for April & May was no Fire, EMS, MVA, No HAZCON. - Old Business-None to report
- New Business.
a. In December of odd years, the Town Board must appoint Election workers for the next two years. Supervisor McFarland made a motion to appoint the following people for the 2024-2025 Election cycle: Susan Johnson, Rachel Schroeder, France Milburn, Judy Borchardt, Charmaine Plasil, Chris Leischer, Mary Stark, Lisa & Jeff Kluslow, Jill Jones and Brenda Borchardt and Supervisor Wollitz seconded. Motion Carried all were in favor.
b. A new agreement between Municipal Inspectors LLC and the Town of Shields was sent. Municipal Inspectors LLC will now be called beginning January 1, 2024 the Contractors. Chairman Jones made a motion to accept the agreement for the Contractors to continue as the building inspectors for the Town of Shields and Supervisor Wollitz seconded. Motion Carried all were in favor. Reminder any new building, replacement or remodeled building must be inspected by the Town of Shields inspector in accordance with state statutes, or fines may result. Please contact the any member of the board if you are unsure.

- Next month’s board meeting date; January 8, 2024 at 7 pm at the Emmet Town Hall.
- Supervisor Wollitz called for the meeting to be adjourned at 8:17pm and Supervisor McFarland seconded. Motion Carried Meeting Adjourned.
